Counselling Services

You don’t have to navigate these events on your own.  Warm, authentic and compassionate counselling can offer you the space to speak freely of your experience, provide coping strategies for the present, and to explore the many different ways of handling change and adversity.  Change can be challenging with aspects of positives and negatives,  but it can also place us in a position for greater awareness of ourselves and immense personal growth.  Counselling can assist you throughout this time so that you are able to make empowered and positive decisions for your present and future.

“How strange that the nature of life is change, yet the nature of human beings is to resist change. And how ironic that the difficult times we fear might ruin us are the very ones that can break us open and help us blossom into who we were meant to be.”

― Elizabeth Lesser, Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow

Therapy for Life Transitions

Are you experiencing some changes in your life that are proving to be challenging to navigate and causing some levels of distress in your life?

We all experience life transitions.  Some of them are planned for and others can take us by surprise.  Some are bumps in the road and others can bring us to crossroads where we struggle to know which road to take next.  Some transitions are exciting, some are scary, and some I would even call ‘scary-exciting’.  A life transition occurs when we are having to navigate either change or an adjustment that significantly impacts our lives and usually brings us to a place of evaluating what brought us to this moment in time. We then find ourselves questioning how do we deal with the present and what will come of the future?  It can be intensely uncomfortable and some of the thoughts and feelings that show up can take us by surprise - possibly even shock us. Often this is because we had a plan for our lives and life wasn’t supposed to turn out this way.

These are just some life transition events that you or someone you care about might be navigating:
